I get more questions on large pores than any other. What woman hasn't gotten
up close to her magnifying mirror and been disgusted by the size of her
pores? To get the flawless face you deserve, follow these tips...
TIP #1: KEEP SKIN CLEAN
Don't even think about going to bed with makeup on. Going to bed with
your makeup on ages the skin 4 days and gets pushed deep into pores while
you toss and turn. When washing the skin, spend a little more time removing
both the oil and dirt by gently massaging in the cleanser with the nubs of
the fingers. Follow the washing by splashing the face with tepid water some
20-30 times to be sure that all traces of the cleanser and impurities are
removed from the skin that would otherwise clog the pores.
TIP #2 PREVENT/REMOVE BLACKHEADS AND WHITEHEADS
A clogged pore expands, so the opening becomes wider. To decrease
blemish-causing debris, masking is critical. Mask 2-3 times weekly. Regular
masking is important because it removes dead skin cells and imbedded
impurites that accumulate on the skin. If not removed regularly, these
accumulations will prevent newer, brighter cells from surfacing and cause
your skin to look dull and uneven. These accumulations can also clog pores,
leading to blackheads and whiteheads. To help your skin look its best and
maintain a healthy glow, it is therefore important to mask two to three
times per week. Regular masking dramatically improves your skin's appearance
and helps to maximize the benefits of your skincare products.
TIP #3: ABSORB EXCESS SHINE
Oil reflects light and brings more attention to a pore's size. Soak up
excess sebum with paper blotting sheets and/or a pressed power with
light-reflecting powder. Pressed powder sets liquid or cream-based makeup
for a translucent, flawless finish and easy touchups throughout the day.
TIP #4: USE-OIL FREE PRODUCTS
If you have large pores, avoid cleansers and moisturizers that contain any
type of mineral oil or petroleum, which can create a clogging film.
